A FACEBOOK Page to help prevent crime in Gloucestershire has been created.
The Facebook Page - Dursley and District Neighbourhood Watch - publish information on crime within the area, as well as details on how to decrease your chances of becoming a victim.
This Facebook page will cover communities across Dursley, Cam, Wotton-under-Edge, Kingswood, the Berkeley Vale and Severnside.
Police Community Support Officer, Joshua Griffiths, of Dursley’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The world of social media is a great way of getting information into the public domain.
“From my experience in the police the more crime prevention advice you can pass onto the public the greater the chances of reducing that type of crime.
“Prevention is better than cure and if you remove the opportunities for crime and make it difficult for the criminal, you can help build a safer, stronger community.”
He offers thanks to the volunteers who are helping to run the site in order to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour within the area. He added: “Their commitment in this scheme is greatly appreciated.”
The police team ask for residents within the communities mentioned to ‘Like’ their Facebook page and to ‘Share’ their crime prevention messages.
