A BUSINESS in Dursley is celebrating after being named one of Britain’s top 100 fastest growing companies.

Immersa, a renewable energy consultancy, has been featured in the annual and prestigious Sunday Times league table in 24th position.

The company, which has 30 employees and based in Drake Lane, recorded sales of £9.9 million last year, a growth of 131.46 per cent.

In addition, the company has revealed it has ‘ambitious’ plans to double its team within the following year.

Immersa CEO Robert Miles, who attended Rednock School, founded the company in 2016 and has said he is proud of his 'Dursley roots'.

Mr Miles said: “I'm proud of my Dursley roots and now those of Immersa.

"I’ve seen our town change enormously over the past 20 years.

“I take great pride that we are able to bring something back to our community by employing and training local people and contributing to the local economy.

“We hope to make this the template of our business as we continue to grow nationally.

"We believe in the power of education and shared knowledge and actively spread awareness about renewable energy technologies with a key focus on Solar P.V. and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

“These cutting-edge technologies enable individuals and organisations to harness natural power and store excess energy, promoting energy independence and reducing carbon footprints."

Mr Miles is also a governor on the Rednock School Board, where he has helped in the transformation and improvement of the school's sustainability.

With Immersa he helped fund and install new solar panels at the school as part of the National Grid Electricity Distribution Communities net zero scheme.
