Second half

FC Halifax boss Neil Aspin was looking for a second half response and he thought his side had earned it when Matty Pearson nodded home, but his celebrations were short-lived with the referee spotting an infringement.

Rovers responded with Kamdjo stinging the hands of Matt Glennon.

Rovers were hunting a game over third. A deep free-kick from Chris Stokes picked out Danny Coles and his strength almost picked out the stretching Parkin.

Pennock was kicking his water bottle as Rovers survived a scare. Adam Smith was allowed to arrow in a cross, which Peniket failed to get any purchase on.

FC Halifax had Rovers on the ropes.

Peniket and Pipe traded yellow cards as the game threatened to boil over.

Rovers were almost caught cold when Peniket nodded a great chance over as Smith whipped over a ball from the right.

However, Rovers held firm with Oliver and Coles in commanding form at the back.
