TOP scorer Asher Budd opened the scoring early on after good work from Marcus Wormwell and he doubled the lead himself after 15 minutes with a clinical finish.

Matt Constable hooked the ball in from a corner to make it three and Budd completed his hat-trick before the half-time whistle.

Budd took his tally to four with a woodwork-assisted penalty, followed by a neat finish from Ryan Sookoo and an excellent rare goal from Sam Hussey.

A couple of late goals from Kingswood took a slight shine off the victory but Thornbury will now host Cinderford Town in the last 16.

Thornbury Town 2 AEK Boco 0

THORNBURY entertained fellow league strugglers AEK Boco in a highly entertaining game.

The home team took control of the match in midfield and created several good scoring opportunities that strikers Anthony Cooper and Jacob Harper failed to take during the first half.

Thornbury took the lead after a rash challenge on Alex Evans led to a free kick, from which Tom Cornock timed his run to perfection to put the host in front.

The home team then sealed the three points after another great passing move saw Anthony Cooper played in on goal again and this time he made no mistake to make it 2-0.

Thornbury Town 1 Mangotsfield United 2

THORNBURY Town lost at home against Mangotsfield United Blues.

The hosts struggled to get into their stride and they were punished when Mangotsfield scored from a long ball over the top.

Mangotsfield also missed a penalty which was saved by in-form Thornbury goalkeeper Henry Thomas.

Thornbury made a brighter start to the second half and looked the more threatening, but were again undone by Mangotsfield’s favoured long ball and they made it 2-0.

Town were rewarded when Alex Riggs slotted home with a crisp finish five minutes from time, but the game finished 2-1.
