MARK Brasier, winner of best newcomer in the 2014 Dursley Running Club awards, tested himself over the marathon distance in Amsterdam.

Brasier finished in a fantastic three hours, 20 minutes.

Result: Mark Brasier 1582nd (MV40 317th) 03:20:44.

On the same day but slightly closer to home, the Abingdon Marathon saw two Dursley runners, Kate Browning and Mouse Clutterbuck, supporting Gloucester AC athlete Den Evans.

Evans finished in 03:42:25 with Browning 25 seconds ahead.

Clutterbuck had steady run slightly off the pace of his fantastic 03:36:48 at Berlin last year.

Results: Kate Browning 334th 03.42:00; Mouse Clutterbuck 354th 03.44.43; Den Evans (Gloucester AC) 339th 03:42:25.

Two Dursley Runners ventured over to Majorca, where Sue Davies completed the 10k race in 01:11:33 and Ian Davies completed the half marathon in 02:16:16.

The previous weekend had seen Victoria Jones in action at the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London and she had a great day, achieving a 10k (56:40) and half marathon personal bests and raising £1,500 for charity all at the same time.

Result: Victoria Jones 6301st, 01:58:45 (chip).

The first Gwent Cross Country League saw another large and competitive field gather at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend.

Kevin Jackson and Roly Hobbs yet again made the journey with Hobbs being rewarded for his efforts with fourth in the V65 Category.

Nick Langridge, a second claim member with Dursley, ran for Thornbury on the day and finished 19th in the MV60 category.

Results: Kevin Jackson 223rd 44:56 Roly Hobbs, 352nd 55:42 Nick Langridge (Thornbury RC) 310th 49:32.

The club runs from Dursley Rugby Club on Tuesday nights.
