Gloucestershire County League Division One
Redmarley 263-6 beat Cam 235-8 by 28 runs

A POOR fielding display from Cam saw them suffer a third defeat of the season.
They remain third in the table but have lost ground on second-placed Westbury-on-Severn.
After winning the toss and asking Redmarley to bat, Pete Hall’s Cam got off to a slow start.
George Dolling was unlucky early on as the ball flew through the slips on more then one occasion but failed to find a hand.
Redmarley opener Toby Dudfield took a liking to the bowling of Ryan Western and the score soon raced past 50.
With the rate around six an over, Hall brought himself into the attack and three balls into his spell, Redmarley skipper James Holland gave Hall a routine caught and bowled.
The following Hall over saw Dudfield dropped at cover by Ben Deakin but fortunately for Cam, Jake Dolbear stumped him soon afterwards on 49, again off the bowling of Hall.
Ian Gerken and Gareth Yardley then created a partnership which frustrated the Cam field.
Yardley was dropped on 36 at long off by Ben Holloway and, on 48, Tom Deakin’s one-handed effort was parried over the boundary.
Gerken was eventually dismissed with a catch from Ben Deakin off the bowling of Chandler and three balls later Tom Deakin took a  catch off the bowling of Alex Ballard.
Rob Gummer supported Yardley in the remaining overs before being bowled for 38 by Western.
Western and Dolling brought the run rate back down and only 20 runs were scored in the last five overs leaving Cam needing 264 for victory.
The Cam reply started poorly as Hall was caught behind for two, soon followed by Ben Holloway (two) and Adam Holloway (8) leaving the score 38-3.
Mike Glover and Tom Deakin held up some resistance with Glover being the majority run scorer.
Deakin then played a weak shot to backward point and was caught for 12.
Glover was then partnered by Ben Deakin who came out to run the Redmarley field ragged.
Glover passed 50 and took the score into three figures. With the run rate required around seven an over, Deakin continued to keep pushing, but the partnership was ended as Glover was bowled by Ollie Norman for 61.
Dolbear joined Deakin and both men scored quickly. Deakin reached50 off 46 deliveries, and both men then went through a spell of scoring off every ball they faced.
This saw Cam need 90 to win off the remaining six overs but Deakin was eventually caught by Gerken for 58.
Some strong hitting from Western (30) and some clever shot selection from Dolbear saw the score reach 217 but Dolbear was caught on 44.
Western was caught on the boundary and that was it as the Cam run chase fell 28 runs short.
