THORNBURY Town have all guns blazing at present as they challenge for the runners-up spot. The hammered five into the Bishops Cleeve Reserves net without reply.
It means Thornbury are now three points behind second-placed Frampton United but with two games in hand on them.
Town were a goal up after six minutes when Craig Lancastle scored from just inside the box. The second right on halftime came from a Luke Franklin free kick that squirmed under the Cleeve keeper Eric Edge.
Danny Haines picked up a loose ball just outside the box to net Thornbury’s third on 62 minutes.
Marcus Wormwell was brought down in the box and Craig Lancastle netted from the spot for the fourth. Tom Webb and Asher Budd then set up Nathan Irwin to power home a headed gaol for the fifth.
