WITH just rearranged games to play the Slimbridge Summer Skittles League reached the final week of the regular season.

The Geriatrics concluded their season 11-points ahead of Snorts FC, however the latter have two outstanding games.

Geriatrics finished their season with a comfortable 52-pin victory over The Dons. Howard Stockman hit 67 for the winners, his total including a 14-spare, whilst Clarence O’Connor hit a 12-spare as they opened up a 39-pin first half advantage.

This was despite Mark Stamp hitting an 11-spare in his total of 60 for the latter.

The second half followed a similar patter as the Geriatrics lead from start to finish, despite neither team hitting a spare they extended their winning advantage by a further 13-pins.

Snorts FC sit in second place but they dropped points in their 41-pin victory over the Bowmen.

Neil Tocknell commenced with a 15-spare whilst Peter Clutterbuck hit 64 as Snorts FC opened up a 48-pin first half lead.

While the first-half was one-way traffic, the second saw the Bowmen fight back, leading from the first leg.

And by the end of the fifth leg, they held a 15-pin advantage.

Snorts FC attempted a comeback entering the final leg eight-pins behind but with Alan Dimery scoring 54 for the Bowmen they held on to claim the half by seven pins to take two points and move off the foot of the table.

Slimbridge RBL concluded their season by recording their fifth victory as they defeated the Unknowns by two pins.

In a close first-half neither team held an advantage in double figures. The Unknowns initially lead for the first three legs, however with Samantha Tarr scoring 60 for the winners they took a narrow three-pin lead in the fourth leg which they never lost.
